The heart is a very essential organ in humans because it supports the entire body network by ciruclating supply of oxygenated blood. The heart is divided into four chambers, two on the left and right and the chambers are further divided into right and left ventricles. There is a wall that separates the right and left side of the heart. The right ventricle pumps blood into the heart while the left ventricle pumps out of the heart. The function of the right side is to carry deoxygenated blood into the right and circulates it to the right ventricle into the lungs where there is an exchange from carbon monoxide into oxygen. If the circulation reduces, then there will be no sufficient flow of blood from the heart to the lungs and that strains the right ventricles hence leading to ventricle hypertrophy.

Main Causes

High Altitudes: Has a huge effect on human beings because of the changes in hemoglobin saturation levels. When humans reach a very high altitude the oxyheamoglobin levels will begin to reduce and this will affect the heart functions because it will not be having enough oxygen in the blood to pump to the vital organs hence causing the body to be deprived of oxygen. That is why very high altitudes are not fit for humans, because it can lead to serious medical problems.

Pulmonary Hypertension: This is caused by an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary veins which will result to symptoms like shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, dizziness, fatigues and fainting. It is important that you seek medical attention so that your doctor can put you on appropriate treatment plans, which will include drugs that enhance the functioning of the heart or surgery in risky cases.

Tretralogy of Falot: This happens when there is a low oxygen level in the blood, which is caused by the mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in the left ventricle. The cause is due to genetically and environmental factors. Mostly it affects children who are in their first year of development. The symptoms of this condition are heart palpitations, fatigue, and difficulty in feeding, retarded growth and lack of weight increase.
